As I perform research on towns, railroads, places and buildings, I uncover a lot of answers to my questions but sometimes I find something that creates a question. I list all of the questions I am trying to answer here, as well as some of the solved ones below.

I am open to information from the general public, just contact me.

Questions I Am Working On

Burlington Schuyler Operation

So I solved the placement of the track a few months ago (see question below about the Schuyler branch.) , but I recently came up with another question. The Burlington line into Schuyler was discontinued in 1941, if the track terminated there, how/where did the locomotives turn around to head back to Ashland? Was there a wye connected to the UP tracks?

Hugo Depot

Where was the Hugo, Minnesota depot?

The USGS maps just missed it by a few years when it was torn down in the 60s It was somewhere between 130th and 145th Street on the east side of Highway 61 but I need a more exact location.

Burlington track into Schuyler

The line was abandoned in 1941, but where did the Burlington track enter Schuyler?

Answer: Along F Street.

Here is a link to where you can still see the piers. Using the USGS map, and the nifty GeoPDF tool, I was able to map where the track crossed the Platte to go into Schuyler. If you find the 7.5 minute topographical map for Schuyler Nebraska on the USGS site, you can see where it says "Old RR Grade" south of the Platte.

I can't believe I didn't see them without using the USGS maps.

How do I get Search Friendly URLS, and also, how do I upload pictures?

Answer: At the time my site was not using the familiar urls you may encounter at wikipedia and I had few pics. That's because I hadn't yet figured out how to fix this. Thanks to the entry at Media Wiki Godaddy info I was able to finally get this going.
