FEVR 1219 is an EMD SW1200



Excursion railroad with offices in Fremont, Nebraska.

The current motive power, as of 2007, is an EMD SW1200, built in 1962 according to the Wikipedia entry. From 1986-???? #1702, a 1942 2-8-0 Baldwin steam locomotive was used. #1702 is now used on the Great Smokey Mountains Railroad, Bryson City, North Carolina.

Operates on 17 miles of track originally laid down by Fremont, Elkhorn and Missouri Valley Railroad in 1869. FM&EV later became part of the Chicago and North Western system. The track was acquired by the FEVR from Chicago and North Western when CNW abandoned the line between Fremont and Hooper, Nebraska in 1984. The Fremont and Elkhorn Valley Railroad was established in 1985.

In December of 2010, the line and locomotives were sold to to Mike Williams of Richmond, Missouri.[1]

The Fremont Dinner Train, which is separately owned, also operates on the FEVR line.
