Hugo was founded in 1906.
Railroads
Hugo was originally created as Centerville Station on the Saint Paul and Duluth Railroad, later the Northern Pacific, and then even later the Burlington Northern. Minnesota Commercial currently serves the Bald Eagle Industrial Park on it's Hugo Line which goes from Belt Line Junction in Roseville, MN to Hugo.
