McGrath, Minnesota

McGrath is named after James McGrath who owned several logging camps in the area and donated 40 acres to plot the town. The Soo Line Railroad eventually built tracks through the town.

James McGrath had several logging camps in the area around 1895. At that time logs were floated down the Snake River to the mills in Stillwater, Minnesota. With the advent of the railroads McGrath donated 40 acres and in 1908 McGrath was plotted.[1]
